Schools Food Drive
WHAT IS IT?
The Feed Melbourne Appeal is celebrating 10 years of raising funds and collecting food donations to support people struggling to put food on their table.
We are asking schools across Melbourne to help support us by participating in a Food Drive during the months of May and June.
WHAT WE NEED?
This year we need three key staples – penne pasta, plain flour and tinned tomatoes – for our partner FareShare to cook into nutritious, healthy meals for people in need.
HOW TO REGISTER?
Participating in the Food Drive is very easy:
- Download our “How to” Guide (pdf)
- Register your school using our form
- Download, print and put up the Food Drive poster (pdf)
HOW TO PARTICIPATE?
When next at Woolworths or their local supermarket, families can buy a packet of penne pasta, plain flour or tinned tomatoes which students then bring into school in May or June. Students can bring in their donations across a week or month– whichever works best for your school. Once completed, record your achievement back here on our site (feedmelbourne.org.au) and contact Patrick Lanyon on 9428 0044 to arrange collection.
If your school would prefer to encourage students to bring in a gold coin donation or run a fundraising event for the Feed Melbourne Appeal instead of participating in the Food Drive, you are most welcome to do so and can make an online donation at feedmelbourne.org.au.
In previous years, food collected through the drive has made a real difference and increase the number of free meals provided to hungry families in our community.
If you have any questions, please contact the Feed Melbourne Appeal on 03 9428 0044 or email@example.com.
