The Feed Melbourne Appeal raises money for local food relief charities to help them provide food to people who are going hurry in the community.

Local food charities are encouraged to apply for a Feed Melbourne Appeal grant of up to $15,000. These grants allow them to purchase vital equipment and low-cost staple food to meet the increasing demand for meals or food in their community.  The grant applications are thoroughly assessed by a grants advisory panel who allocate two thirds of the appeal’s total fundraising to charities.

The remaining third is provided to FareShare, which makes a significant contribution towards helping them rescue surplus food and cook this into nutritious, healthy free meals.
